Here at the Drum Estate, we welcome visitors to enjoy the countryside, wildlife and beautiful scenery.
This is a private estate and whilst we welcome you into it please be aware that we receive no public funding for providing access.
In order to benefit all members of our community we have a couple of polite requests:
The Drum RDA use paths and roads throughout the estate and so in order not to endanger the disabled riders or horses we need to be particularly vigilant about these rules.
CCTV and ANPR are used extensively throughout the estate.
We occasionally have to close part or all of the estate because of extreme weather, farming operations or events. This is for your safety so please respect these instructions.
Our Guidelines
- Please keep all dogs on a lead during your visit- they can scare both horses, wildlife and other members of the community. As part of our conservation plan we also have ground nesting birds which can’t be disturbed.
- Please do not under any circumstances feed the horses. They are all on special diets individually designed for their health and wellbeing. Sadly, feeding them, including handfuls of grass, although kindly meant, results in serious health risks to these special animals whose life work is to help people.
- Please also pick up after your dog as we have many children playing in the Estate.
- Please take all your litter and waste home. Our team work very hard keeping the estate looking beautiful for the whole community. Please help us with this.
- Please keep to paths and roads- we have created some wonderful roads and paths taking you around the estate. Please keep out of fields as they are used for livestock and our regenerative farming which requires crops in the ground year round.
- We do not allow the use of electric scooters or electric bikes as they scare horses.
- Cyclists please ride slowly and considerately.
- Please respect the privacy of residents and don’t try to access their gardens or loiter around buildings. Note, Drum House is a family home and not open to the public.
- Anti-social and criminal behaviour will not be tolerated. Please be respectful to all members of the community. Report any concerns to the estate or the police.

Our Ranger
We have a fabulous ranger called Dennis who you will often see around the estate either walking or in his buggy. He is there for your safety and assistance. Please do talk to him if you have any concerns.
